class of 2021 sessions underway

I kicked off senior portrait season with these two amazing ladies. Brains, balance and beauty — they’ve got it all!

Christina attends Brazoswood High School and is a standout athlete and scholar.

Madalyn is a Danbury homeschooler excelling in writing, dance, theatre and art.

What fun it is to see both Madalyn and Christina embrace their gifts and share them with us! Blessings and best wishes to you both as you step out into the world.

I have room for a few more seniors in the next couple of months, so give me a call if you’d like to schedule a session!

all things new

Welcome to the newest version of my website and blog!

After 15 years in business as a custom photographer and graphic artist, I’ve decided to focus primarily on my two favorite mediums: black & white photography and hand lettering & artwork. You’ll find portfolios of both types of work here on my new site, so please feel free to take a look!

If you’ve followed me for very long, you know I like to photograph all sorts of things and try my hand at new types of art, so don’t worry — you’ll still see me sharing plenty of photos of people, landscapes, travel adventures and glorious creative messes in living color. I’m just hoping to train your eyes to love black & white portraits as much as I do and convince you to let me take some of you too.

Most of my artwork and lettering are projects I dream up on my own, but I would also love to partner with you on your ideas. You never know what amazing result we may create together!

My goal is to begin posting new work and important info here first and then share to social media. That will require breaking some old habits but should give me more control and ownership over what I put out into the world.

Would you please do me a favor and subscribe to my blog? You have my word that I will not bombard you with unrelated junk.

Here’s to a new year filled with wonderfully made masterpieces!

LET THE WORLD KNOW YOU’RE WONDERFULLY MADE

J&M Custom Screen Printing just started a great project to support their fellow Angleton-area small businesses. They are taking orders for $20 custom-printed T-shirts and giving $10 per shirt to the featured business.

Just go to jmtshirts.com and scroll down to the Shop Small section, then click to see all of the shirts currently being offered. They’ll be taking orders for approximately 2 weeks per design before printing that batch of shirts.

So on your mark, get set, GO! And be sure to tell all your favorite small businesses that there’s still time to join the movement.

Thank you J&M for generously and creatively supporting our neighbors!

at-home mini sessions with Mom

Here’s a fun Mother’s Day gift idea:

Gather on your front porch, back deck, lawn or street for an at-home mini session with Mom! This will only take about 15 minutes and I’ll stay at a safe distance. The cost is $125 and you’ll get 10 edited images. This special offer is available May 4-17, so contact me today!

$25 of every session fee will be donated to ActionS, Inc. of Brazoria County to help provide groceries to homebound seniors.

AND you’re welcome to prepay by May 17 and save your mini session for later if needed!

Jane Wayne rides again

Made a new best friend today and her name is Rose.

She’s my new best friend because she took good care of my mama, aka Jane Wayne.  Mom hadn’t ridden a horse in years but had never given up the dream of riding again.

One reason Rose is so wonderful is that she is well cared for by her true best friends, Ethan and Kathy Gambino of Horses for Life!

So many beautiful horses roam peacefully around the property!

This one was particularly friendly and hoping to persuade someone to give her cookies.  I have a feeling someone may tuck a few cookies into his pocket for next time.

Since this was Jane Wayne’s first visit, Kathy worked at a slow and easy pace.  First a helmet …

… then a gentle stroll up the ramp  to mount the horse…

… then plenty of time to settle in …

… and lots of reassurance while getting familiar with how to communicate with Rose.

That was enough for today, but everyone was thrilled with the experience.

Especially our brave, hopeful Jane Wayne ❤

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. — Psalm 31:24

A whole Lottie love

Lottie is turning 1!

One amazing year.  So many blessings already and such a bright future ahead.

A distinct personality already forming.

Curiosity and opinions in equal measure.

Daddy charmed.

Mama in love.

Security in one another’s arms.

Parents remembering what it’s like to see the world through a child’s eyes.

Delight in one another growing by the day.

Life is good and the best is yet to be.

Happy birthday, dear Lottie!  Happy birthday to you!

May you live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.

Colossians 1:10

So very very Isaac

I had the most fun morning catching up with this little guy!

The last time we met he had the most amazing wrinkles I’d ever seen.  My comment then was:  “As soon as this itty bitty boy grows into his skin, he is going to be the best kind of firecracker.”

And boy was I right!

So much personality …

… so inquisitive …

… so loving …

… so adventurous …

… and so very very Isaac!

Happy first year, beloved boy, and many many more!

Let Your love, God, shape my life
with salvation, exactly as You promised.

Psalm 119:41

Some people just radiate joy

And Karly and Maurice are two of them.

I joked during our mini-session that they just weren’t smiling enough, which as you can see was truly a ludicrous thing to say.

Blessings and congratulations to you two.  I think you’re gonna do just fine!

I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.

Song of Solomon 6:3

You can call me Joe

Pardon me, might I have a moment of your time?

I’d like to talk with you about your investment portfolio.  Have you thought about diversifying?

Because truly, that would be the wisest plan.  Take it from me.

What’s that?  You’re not sure I know what I’m talking about?

Well, to tell the truth, you’re right.  But the tie nearly fooled you, didn’t it?

I mean, from the moment my Grammy brought this outfit over, I could not wait to put it on!

I chuckled to myself, “You’re gonna knock ’em dead, kid!”

Oh good, here’s my lovely assistant!  She’s all dressed up too and I’ll bet I can sweet talk her into bringing me a snack.

Hold up.

Just exactly what is going on here?

About how long is this kissing going to be a thing?

I mean, I like you and all, but let’s try to keep that stuff under control.

HA!  Gotcha again!

It was so fun visiting with you today, Joseph/Joey/JayJoe/many more nicknames to come.  May you and your marvelous big sister have lots and lots of sweet and silly days together ahead!
