Not to be all dramatic or anything, but the sun is setting on Jake’s high school years.
Depending on who you ask, this is either a sort of sad thing or a really good thing.
Jake is of the “really good thing” opinion.
Don’t get me wrong, Jake has had plenty of fun in school and has accomplished lots of good things.
It’s just that now he’s ready to move on to other things.
Manly things. Daring things. Challenging and adventurous things.
Things like joining the army and pushing himself to accomplish new goals and traveling who-knows-where.
Yep, he’s ready.
And truth be told, he’s getting a little bit giddy about it.
Kick-up-his-heels giddy even.
Soon he’ll be packing up and heading out into the wild blue yonder. His excitement will be the only thing that makes his leaving bearable for everyone left behind.
God bless and Godspeed, Jake. Don’t forget to enjoy every single remaining day you have with those folks who love you enough to let you go!
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
